Coley's most recent post inspired this post from me. She writes about how a Christmas letter has changed and does change with growing up. It reminded me of this Christmas song that I listen to every Christmas on my Merry Christmas To You CD by Reba McEntire.

Lyrics for Song: A Christmas Letter
Lyrics for Album: Merry Christmas To YouAt an antique desk
An old man sits alone
It's Christmas Eve
And it's almost time to goHe signs his name to a letter he just wrote
Then he reads it back with a voice as soft as snowI want peace on earth for Christmas
In a world where there's not one hungry child
A day where hope and faith
Conquers fear and hate
All I'm asking for is a little more loveThen he walks outside
And he climbs up on his sleigh
And calls out to his reindeer
Off they fly away
Oh tonight he'll make a million dreams appear
While he wishes that his own dreams would come true this yearI want peace on earth for Christmas
In a world where there's not one hungry child
A day where hope and faith
Conquers fear and hate
All I'm asking for is a little more loveA day where hope and faith
Conquers fear and hate
All I'm asking for is a little more love

What type of Christmas letter would Santa write? What would he ask for? And who do you think he is writing to? This song stops me every year to think about what I REALLY want for Christmas. And I always come to the conclusion that it isn't whatever trinket I've been eyeing or the cash cards that I'm hoping to receive. I probably wouldn't have put it as beautifully as above, but "A day where hope and faith
Conquers fear and hate
All I'm asking for is a little more love" sounds perfect to me.
