I have been cleaning out my files on the computer, getting it somewhat ready to take in for yearly maintenance. It should have been done a couple of times before this, as my laptop is about 3 years old, but, better late than never! In purging some files, I came across some saved articles and links that I had planned to post on while on this site, but didn’t get around to. Now that my move is planned and in the process, I thought that I’d better share them while I have the chance.

amfAR
This group’s mission from their website is as follows:

amfAR’s mission is to prevent HIV infection and the disease and death associated with it and to protect the human rights of all people threatened by the epidemic of HIV/AIDS.

This organization is very close to my heart because of their launch of the Kenneth Cole campaign of “We all have aids” which I try to recognize and support every year on World AIDS Day.

blogs from adoptionshare

The above link will take you to the “Share Stories” segment of adoptionshare. This is a listing of blogs/stories of people that are in the adoption process or have completed the process. I love the way that it is organized. It lists the separate links of each story; where they are adopting from; the name of the child; and where the child is from. There are about 68 blogs to choose from, and I haven’t even made a dent in my reading them all, but have enjoyed what I have seen so far.

cinematherapy

This last link is one that I was ready to vent on. The site lists certain movies that are related to issues that people may be going through. Their listing for adoption and custody is heartwrenching for the most part. As I think about it, it just shows how Hollywood has portrayed adoption in an unflattering light for some time.
