Baby's First Christmas Frustration

Let me first clarify that I'm in a cruddy mood tonight. I'm about to head into a rant about now, so if you don't want to hear it, I'd stop reading now.

This is my baby's first Christmas. Maybe not his first Christmas on Earth, but his first Christmas celebrating with our family. Do you think that I could find any article of clothing to celebrate that fact? After driving around today to 4 different stores on the opposite ends of town? Nope.

There are adorable onesies, Santa suits and bibs declaring all about Baby's First Christmas. But none over size 9 months. Now my baby is only about 14 months old, but he wears 18 month old sized clothes. Even the bibs are too small for me to safely put them on him. By the end of shopping today, I was about to try to wrangle him into a 9 month onesie. Not my most coherent mommy moment. Don't fear, I didn't buy it. I don't think that Bec would have went for it anyway.

So now I'm reduced to possibly making him some sort of iron on that will look very unprofessional. Compared to the mounds of options we had while dressing Ivy for her first Christmas, Bec's options are almost nil. And that makes me angry.

Of course, I haven't hit all of the shops yet. I was just hoping to get his outfit today to avoid crowds this weekend and to try to get their holiday pics put to bed at the printers. Hopefully, I'll be able to find the perfect outfit without too much more effort. My mom and my sis are also on the hunt.

Bottom line to manufactuers: Not every baby that is celebrating their first Christmas fits into 9 month and under sizes! Even if they are under 12 months old!

And let's not get me started on the ornament selection either. Hasn't anyone every heard of a variety of skin colors? Maybe I'm getting started on this too late in the season, but the only ornaments I could find, did not represent my son in the least!
