I truly want this blog to be somewhere you can turn to for valuable information and a voice of understanding. If you have any questions, topics you would like to see addressed, or issues that are weighing on your mind please leave me a comment and if I can, I will "talk" about it in an upcoming blog. On that note, many of you have probably heard about the proposed bill in Georgia entitled the "Ethical Treatment of Human Embryos Act." Sen. Ralph Hudgens introduced the legislation that would limit the number of embryos that could be transferred (NOT implanted, they can't do that and it irks me to no end that it is constantly referred to us such) in an… [more]
Hello to all! I am very excited to introduce myself to you and look forward to using this blog to "talk" about all things fertility/infertility. I hope you will consider this a place where you can come to read about fertility issues that are important to you and truly feel like someone (me) knows exactly what you are going through. Think of it as a coffee-break (oops - are we "allowed" to have coffee - we'll save that for another post!) chat between friends.
My name is Sheila, and I am/was infertile. Sounds kind of like a recovering alcoholic doesn't it? That may seem a bit dramatic, but I think it is a very comparable… [more]
All around me this week are endings. A friend has experienced a break up of her relationship. Another friend is putting her dog down tomorrow. And this week is my last writing for this fertility blog. I have learned so much and have met some wonderful people through this forum. It gave me something to do while exploring my infertile times and welcoming my new son into our lives. A dream experience for a work at home mom. And now, there are new things to learn and new things to say. I have no idea if I'm done with infertility, but I am for now in my life and in my career. I'm excited to see where this blog goes and am so… [more]
Today is my very first blogging anniversary. I think. Now that sounds funny doesn't it? All day, I've been thinking that today was my anniversary writing here, but now that I've sat down to actually write it, I'm not all the way sure. I suppose that I could go back and check... So, if I am correct, it has been 12 months since I started this gig. And I am finally getting into a writing groove that works for me, without trying to drive myself crazy at the last minute. Everyday I enjoy myself more and learn so much. Besides acquiring new information on a daily basis and sharing it on a large scale, I am now able to describe myself as a writer… [more]

On my personal blog, I participate in a meme called Thursday Thirteen. Today as I was constructing my post, I was surprized at some of the things that came up in my semi stream of consciousness writings. I would like to share it with you.
Here is a list of things that "call my name". Not things that I worry about, but things that are kind of in the background always vying for a spare moment. My sister calls it, "listening to the angel and the devil on my shoulders". For me, they just call my name over and over.
1. Cancer. "Kari, I know your name."
2. My credit card. "Sweetie, isn't that pretty? You would look so cute in that. We have the… [more]
This is the exciting announcement that I just told you about! The Fertility Blog is seeking an additional blogger to join the team. Good afternoon, Fertility Blog readers! This announcement brings me great joy (and will be followed by another announcement of excitement)! My name is Jenna and I am the new Community Manager for the fertility blog (and forums!).
I won't be posting everyday like Karianne has been; and doesn't she do a great job? I'm mostly here for maintenance, upkeep, recruitment, training and promotion. I will attempt to keep our readers up to date with fertility related news bits, links and other related issues on a twice weekly basis. My plan is to bring you news that relates to fertility, our forums, the blogs or our community at the beginning and end of your work week!
For those wondering my direct connection to the… [more]

Hey All,
It's All About Me! Some of my fellow bloggers have been writing posts so that their readers can learn a bit more about them. I wasn't too sure if I was going to join in or not, but one of my friends sent me this list on Myspace. I've taken out some of the more staunch info, for the purpose of not offending anyone who may be reading this site. Here goes:
Cause you KNOW you want to know....

I don't know anyone with my same birthday and I'm glad! It's MINE!!
