Great Product Idea-Refillable Pregnancy Test

One of my best girlfriends bought me a subscription to Child magazine for Christmas. My subscription started last month and even before I was through with the first issue, I was so excited about the magazine. Mostly because of the beautiful photography, but also because of the ideas that I got for this blog.

In the first issue, this advertisement caught my eye. It is from ConfirmClearly and it is a refillable pregnancy test. From their website:

The only test with money-saving refills!
Be sure to save your reader for future use! You can reuse your Confirm Clearly reader over and over again by buying refills. Confirm Clearly Refills greatly reduce the cost per test – the starter test is approximately 22% less expensive than competitive branded digital tests with refills costing less than $5.00 per test (based on manufacturer’s suggested retail price) saving consumers money over time.

Clear results in colored lights reduce worry.
• A green hourglass reassures you that you did the test right.
• A blue plus sign tells you that you are pregnant
• A yellow minus sign tells you that you aren’t.
No more lines to interpret. No more second guessing yourself.

So first you buy their starter test which has either 1 or 2 test sticks and a reader. You save the reader portion of the test and can buy refill packs of 3 test sticks to use in the original reader. The reader is digital and lighted, so reading results and checking to see if you used the test correctly is more clear than the general line and dot kits.

I usually don't care for digital tests because whichever result comes up from the test, the indicator is gone in about 2 hours. So if you wanted to save the test for the baby box, like I did, you would have to either take a photo of it displaying the blue plus sign, or take a traditional line test that lasts indefinitely. We saved the test from my sister's pregnancy with my nephew and it is still showing positive over 14 years later. I know that this may be gross to some women, but it was something that I really wanted.
