Flipping through the pages of the "happy book", I look over the lists on both pages and then decide on one item to pick that makes me happy. I do this until I have ten things on my list. I then add these to my journal and write a small bit about why these things make me happy. To really think about happiness and about the happiness that is in my life. Here is my list for today.

chocolate pound cake Strong, thick pound cake, no fluff, no frosting and chocolate, of course!
ribbons as bookmarks I never seem to be able to use a bookmark, let alone something as sophisticated as a ribbon. This gives me something to strive towards.
Southern fried chiken I love fried chicken. I have never made it, but it is one of my favorite foods, especially homemade. My sister made me some as a birthday present one year since her fried chicken is my favorite.
tomato and round steak on skewers Add in some mushrooms, pearl onions and bell peppers and you are now at almost every barbeque of my childhood.
Dr. J (Julius Erving), basketball player One of my nephews is named after him!
rain at night, if you are safe in bed We own the house that my grandparents and my great aunt and uncle built. Right outside our bedroom window is a covered patio that amplifies the rain, sounding like a storm even if it is only a small shower.
a belief that caution often deserves to be thrown to the winds This gets me into a lot of fun and mostly leads to me ditching work and going shopping out of town.
baby cereal Spoon feeding my babies is one of my favorite parts of being a mom.
cutting out a pattern This is the best part about sewing something to wear. I wouldn't really know how the finishing part feels.
heaters for bathrooms This is something that we don't have here at home. I would love to have one, especially one of those red heat lamps in the ceiling.
