Time for some (color) therapy
In this tip from the MomSpa team, they suggest wearing pink sweats. You'll have to read the full tip to get the idea of what they are talking about and it makes a lot of sense. The part of this tip that I found most helpful is their color list and the feelings that can be invoked by seeing a certain color. Periwinkle blue is my favorite color and not listed with their suggestions, but I'm sure with a little research that I could figure out why I enjoy it so much. Here is their list:
Pink Pink soothes and nurtures the wearer and those around her. It disolves anger and encourages unconditional love.
Red The color red stimulates the appetite. Perhaps it's not the best color for your workout clothes if weight loss is your goal.
Orange A warming and energizing color, orange stimulates creativity and encourages fun and socialibility.
Yellow Bright and cheerful, yellow can also be energizing and mood enhancing.
Green Jewel tones (jade, teal) and soft blue-greens can be both calming and energizing - and they're flattering to a wide range of skin tones. And if you want to add oomph to your attitude, try a bright chartreuse. But avoid muddy greens like khaki and olive, which can be depressing.
Turquoise With it's cool and calming effect, turquoise is considered good for the immune system in color therapy.
Blue Blue is calming and relaxing to the wearer, and it's a good healing color.
Indigo Blue Indigo blue has a sedative effect. This is the one to choose for your most stressful days.
Violet Also calming for the body and mind, violet is thought to have a purifying effect on the body.
Maybe we should start dressing our little boys in pink as well.
