Movies Regarding Infertility from No Baby On Board
When I was going through our infertility, I stayed away from anything in the media that even suggested talking about the situation that I was in. I remember the weekend that we were waiting to find out results, I deliberately picked out the movie Snow Dogs to spend my time in front of. And to this day, I cringe inside when I see the cover of it, or when someone mentions it. I associate it with loss.
But for others, watching about the struggles of others can be helpful and healing. They feel that they aren’t alone and like to see how other characters have dealt with it, or at least, to see what other situations may be out there.
From the site No Baby On Board, they offer a list of movies that deal with infertility. Now, I’ve only seen one of these movies, so I can’t recommend any of them, except for the first one, but they may be worth checking out.
The Baby Dance with Stockard ChanningRaising Arizona with Holly Hunter and Nicholas Cage
Funny about Love with Gene Wilder
The Good Girl with Jennifer Aniston
Penny Serenade with Cary Grant
Forget Paris with Billy Crystal and Debra Winger
Maybe Baby with Hugh Laurie and Joely Richardson
This list also seems a bit outdated as I am remembering an adoption movie that I saw recently that involved infertility. I can’t remember the name, yet I know that Maggie Gyllenhall, Daryl Hannah, Lili Taylor and Marcia Gay Harden. Isn’t that funny that I can remember the actors, yet not the name? I actually really enjoy all of them, which is why I took the courage to rent it in the first place. (I just looked it up and it is called Casa de los Babys).
Are there any other movies that you could recommend involving infertility and/or miscarriage?
