Today is the one month mark for bringing home Becken! Chris and I were talking last night and saying that it seems like he has been here forever, but also like we just picked him up. We said the same things when we had brought Ivy home from the hospital.
These two get along so well. They hold hands in the car while they are in their car seats. It is so cute. Ivy has really taken to her role as big sis and is such a huge help. Bec just loves her. He looks for her and when his eyes rest on her they just light up and he gets excited. When Chris comes home from work Bec about jumps out of my arms to get to him.
We are up to two feedings of cereal a day. We had to video him eating because he gets so excited and kicks his feet and opens his mouth up as wide as it can go. His favorite toy is a red plastic spoon which I think that he loves because he can gnaw on it as he is working on his first tooth. His crawling is coming along, but when he gets tired of that, he just rolls to wherever he wants to go. I call him my little bowling ball when he does that. When he does work on his crawling, he gets up on his hands and knees, rocks back and forth then THROWS himself forward. Ivy and I crack up. He looks like one of those little turtles that make a run for it on the beach to get to the ocean.
My maternity leave ends next week. I can’t believe how fast it went. I was soooo ready to head back to work when Ivy was little, but now I’m having so much fun with both of them. Actually, I am missing my clients too so this will be a good fit. I’m only going back to work for W and F mornings, every other week. Since my mom and sis own a day care, it won’t be that bad. My two cousins run the infant room and Bec has played in there with them a few times for short visits. He loves it. I think that he misses all of his Wanna buddies and seeing the other babies reminds him of them.
