Top Ten Fertility Friendly Companies

Top Ten One of the most challenging aspects of infertility is dealing with the financial implications if you have no insurance benefits for fertility treatments. In addition, combining work schedules with the rigorous time constraints of fertility treatments and then managing to get a decent amount of time off for maternity leave if the treatments are successful can be a nightmare. There were many times during our IVF cycle that I was envious of people who lived in mandated states, those who simply paid a co-pay when I was writing massive checks. When I finally did conceive I was especially jealous of the maternity leave of most women in European countries, but knew that I should be grateful for the paid time off that I did get that is not necessarily commonplace.

Conceive magazine recently published it’s list of top companies that offer exceptional financial and time-off benefits to employees for fertility treatments and adoption. The list was compiled after much research, surveys, and actual studies of families. Most who are struggling with fertility probably won’t be lucky enough to work for these companies, but I do think the companies deserve our support. If we can let these companies know; through our purchases, our use of the services they offer, and our commitment to them that we appreciate their support of fertility and adoption benefits, then maybe more companies will soon be vying for the top spot on this list. Making fertility treatments more accessible would certainly benefit women struggling with infertility, but would also ensure that many companies across the country are able to keep outstanding employees who are also happy employees once their dreams of family are more attainable.

Companies making the top ten list were:
1. Citizens Financial Group – Citizens Bank
2. Arnold & Porter (legal services)
3. Baker & McKenzie (legal Services)
4. Barilla America (food – pasta and sauces)
5. The Boston Consulting Group
6. Deutsche Bank
7. Exceptional Software Strategies, Inc. (IT)
8. Harvard University
9. Kozy Shack (food)
10. National Futures Association (nonprofit)

The magazine acknowledged the Top 50 and detailed what each company offers in terms of fertility benefits, adoption benefits, and leave. These companies should be commended – hopefully more will follow in their footsteps.
